Michelle Schmidt

Faithful Family Leader

Michelle Schmidt, beautiful wife of Jon Schmidt of the Piano Guys, has 5 children. One of her daughters, Annie, tragically died in a hiking accident. Michelle served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and returned home after serving for 6 months. She states, “I know…about the shame and guilt that someone may feel from not being able to fulfill a “full” mission or in a “normal” way. These kinds of feelings are so unnecessary and they aren’t coming from the right place.” She continues, “I’ve also had a daughter who struggled with an eating disorder on her mission, [in addition to some of our children experiencing] addiction and depression and anxiety.”

1st Semi-Annual Missionary Summit on Mental Health

Save the Date: September 28th, 2024

Ever Onward is a semi-annual gathering where pre-missionaries, returned missionaries, and their families learn about mental health and resilience through storytelling, inspirational speakers, and moving musical performances. This inspired event includes mental health training from experienced professionals. The title “Ever Onward,” taken from the chorus of the hymn “Called to Serve,” symbolizes the courage to move forward and stay on the covenant path.

Resilience is crucial as pre-missionaries and returned missionaries face obstacles, rejection, transitions into the mission field and back home, and moments of doubt. Faith keeps you grounded, while resilience helps you bounce back from setbacks and continue your work with dedication and positivity. At Ever Onward, you will learn together through stories, music, and faith, while growing spiritually and gaining tools for mental health and wellness.
